About Me

Qualifications
Collin (he/him) received a Master's in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Colorado - Boulder and completed his clinical fellowship at the University of Colorado Hospital - Anschutz in the department of Otolaryngology. He holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). He has published research aimed at understanding the changes in transmasculine voices during testosterone therapy, and he is currently working on an NIH grant funded project through New York University (NYU) and the University of Cincinnati (UC) on a biofeedback method for targeting resonance in gender affirming voice. He is especially passionate about conducting research for and with his community.
Background
Collin knew exactly what he wanted to do when he graduated high school. He was already performing in musical theater productions professionally, and that is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. After attending college for musical theater and experiencing life as a professional performer, he decided it was not the career for him after all.

He went back to college and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Writing and a Master of Arts in Education - Literature and Composition. He taught middle school, high school, and college for 7 years before choosing to move into Speech Language Pathology.

Getting to Know Collin
Outside of his professional life, Collin has a variety of interests and activities! His number one passion in life is horse back riding. He competes in hunter jumper shows year round and absolutely adores his horses. He also has a menagerie of animals at home including dogs, cats, and ducks. He also loves hiking, fishing, gardening, birding, and art in any form.

Introducing MacKenzie
(they, them)
Mackenzie is a graduate student at the University of Montana. They have a wide range of experiences in speech-language pathology, but their heart lies in treating adults with voice pathologies and aphasia. They utilize a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approach with all of their clients and focus on building up meaningful real-world skills to improve their clients' confidence, independence, and quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, Mackenzie enjoys traveling, reading, writing, playing video games and TTRPGs, and making art outside of work. They enjoy creating worlds and stories and immersing others (and themselves) into them. Mackenzie lives with their partner and their Boston terrier Calypso.
